The Draft Dodger Classic is the Same Model as the Draft Dodger Surface
The Draft Dodger Classic name is going to be slowly discontinued to support the new name of the Surface. The main reason for this is that the term Classic did not provide much of a description for what the mail slot actually provides. The name Surface is now used because this model is fastened on to the doors surface with out having a passthrough sleeve. I can be installed with caulking or screws. Used to retrofit old leaky exterior mail slots or used in urban areas where the doors are made of glass and aluminum and are mostly thin where a telescopic sleeve is not needed.

Where the Surface Best Fits.
This mail, letter, parcel slot is able to be installed on many surfaces especially glass and metal doors. Because there is no sleeve, the Surface is directly installed on the surface with silicone or the provided 4 screws. This model is great for urban centers where you want the security of your small parcels and mail entering your building. It has also been installed on the interior of building when there is an existing leaky exterior mail slot that is not going to be replaced.
Energy Efficient Features
The Surface parcel port provides its energy efficiency with 2 main features. The first line of defense from a draft comes from the gasket and the torsion rods keeping a tight exterior seal. If mail or a parcel is preventing it from closing, a brush strip on the interior further limits the escaping indoor air.

A mail slot is not complicated to install as long as you have a good set of tools and the right dimensions. With each Draft Dodger Surface, you will receive the screws for the “screwing” method of installing the mail slot. The other way is to use a caulking to install the mail slot.
