Installation Methods
The Uni-T can be installed several ways with each providing different benefits. Each method can be used on their own, but using all 3 methods at once would be the most secure method of installing your mail slot.
Bolting Method — Included
Included in the purchase of each mail slot is hardware comprising of two bolts and sleeve bolts. This hardware is the standard method of installing the mail slot. You simply install the sleeve bolt on the exterior frame in the center and then insert the bolt through the interior frame to then catch the sleeve bolt and then tighten.

Screwing Method — Included
Also included in the purchase of each mail slot are eight self-tapping screws. Using these screws is another option that is recommended to ensure the mail slot is fastened to the door tightly, but is not completely necessary.

Caulking Method — Additional Material Required
Sometimes it is simpler to put a bead of caulking and not have any additional holes or screws. Inspecting the surface of your mail slot that rests up against your door, you will see a groove that allows a bead of caulking. You may add your caulking and secure the mail slot to the door. You will not need to use the installation gasket that provided if you are caulking directly onto the door. Using tape to hold the mail slot in place is recommended so it does not shift or sag during the caulking curing time.
